To better meet their needs, Pivotal Payments is looking for a Director of Legal Affairs to join their team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will work from the downtown Montreal office and supervise one lawyer. On a daily basis, you will have contact with senior management, keeping them informed of potential risks and legal issues in order to facilitate the smooth running of business. You will split your time between commercial law, legal advice / support to operations and litigation management. You will draft amendments to the service agreements and will intervene with regard to supplier contracts, tripartite contracts involving financial institutions, contracts governing the company's relations with its customers and information technology contracts. You will be the person designated to assist the various internal units in matters of a legal nature, both with senior management and with operations, sales, human resources departments, etc. You will handle litigation involving the company vis-à-vis its clients, collaborating with outside lawyers from different jurisdictions to determine the chances of success, guide the strategy and help collect and obtain relevant evidence on file.
Do you want to evolve in an entrepreneurial and ever-changing work environment? Are you versatile, mature and able to handle a multitude of files simultaneously. Do you have a good sense of organization, and are oriented towards finding solutions. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of ten years of relevant experience and be bilingual both orally and in writing. While not a prerequisite, possessing knowledge in information technology or online payment systems will be considered an asset. Ref. # 27858
