Employee Relations Officer
Join the Durham District School Board (DDSB) in Whitby. Reporting to the Manager of Employee Relations and Legal Services, you will participate in all negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, and act as a liaison between the Board and Union and Federation representatives on collective agreement matters. Your thorough knowledge of collective bargaining, labour relations and employment matters, as well as relevant legislation, regulations and procedures, will enable you to act as an advisor on these and other education-related issues, including the preparation of briefs, submissions, policies and procedures. You will also conduct internal
workplace investigations pursuant to Bills 168 and 132 and Board procedures, and serve as a point of contact for school administrators on labour relations issues and collective agreement interpretation. This role calls for 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in labour relations and contract administration, preferably in the public sector, backed by a Master of Industrial Relations, a JD/LLB law degree, or university degree in a related field. A CHRP designation would be an asset. Salary range: $84,575 - $93,973 per year.
